Object Assignment

Take the perfect picture of nature in your head and multiply that one hundred times over. For me my end result is the beautiful Appalachian Trail, a trail that emits somewhat of a mystical feeling towards it. For thousands of people have walked over the same roots, rocks, and soil that I have just set foot on. It is hard to imagine that with all the traffic that this trail receives the surrounding environment still appears almost untouched by man. The trail is surrounded by a dense forest of fairy tale like qualities, as the sun spits through the limbs of the tallest pine trees and the smallest shrubs. While sleeping one may hear the trickling of a high mountain stream or the rustling of a grouse scampering across the ground but to the average hiker this is the sound of pure simplicity. Some may question your sanity when telling them of your goals, “Why would you sacrifice the comforts of home to sleep in the wilderness?". I have no specific response to this question but I believe that the feeling of the trail cannot be put into words for its unknown beauty will never be understood by man.

You always seem to come up with the most incredible ways to end your essay or story or whatever you may be writing. I love how you touch upon the history of the trail and how it gives more meaning to the surroundings and all. I like how you make it a point to incorporate how other people tend to question why someone would do something like sleep outside when they have the luxuries of a home. And your only response is how it's about the feeling of the trail and it just puts the hiking and camping on a completely different level of meaning.

I think the way you described things was really interesting. I like your use of words. Your ending is very strong.
